dc.description.abstract	Senate Chairperson, Chet Cooper, presided. President David Sweet gave a report updating the Senate on administrative issues around campus. Remarks were given from Dean Martin Abraham from the STEM college and a power point presentation was given on the proposal for a Ph.D. program in Material Science and Engineering. The Senate Executive Committee reported the next Penguin Pride event will be held in April and that the OFC supported S.B. 305 and H.B. 502. Tammy King reported on the Ohio Faculty Council meetings. The Academic Standards Committee recommended changes regarding placement testing. The Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and the General Education Committee gave informational reports.
