Presented are the minutes of the 150th meeting of the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees. This was a regular meeting. Included are supporting exhibits. Highlights included: resolutions to approve staff/faculty appointments, to accept gifts to YSU. Presidential, executive, and committee reports followed. The Board further resolved: to extend benefits to exempt classified employees; to extend tuition remission to exempt part-time employees; to institute an Early Retirement Incentive Program (ERIP) to eligible faculty; to grant a pay increase to head football coach Jim Tressel; to name the facilities building after Edmund J. Salata; to authorize concurrent jurisdiction between the YSU Police and the Youngstown Police Departments; to work with the city to demolish the Eagles/DeMichaels properties; to establish a provost recruitment account; to authorize an interfund loan to the Center for Quality and Productivity; to confer an honorary degree upon Dr. Bernard J. Yozwiak; to create a College of Health & Human Services; to permit the serving of alcoholic beverages at the McDonough Art Museum on special occasions; and to congratulate Coach Jim Tressel and the Penguin Football Team for winning the 1991 NCAA I-AA Football Championship. |
