December 10, 1999: Board of Trustees Regular Meeting Minutes

Abstract

Presented are the minutes of the 200th meeting of the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees on December 10, 1999. This was a regular meeting. Reports were made on the Beecher Center for Technology in the Arts, the Peace Officers Training Academy, Student Benefits from the Microsoft Agreement, and the University’s commitment to diversity. Committee reports were heard. The Board resolved: to approve objectivity in research (avoidance of conflicts of interest); to approve integrity in research (Use and Care of Animals); to approve the policy on intellectual property rights; to approve changes to student fees, charges, and fines; to change fee structure of master of public health; to authorize the peace officer training academy fee and to the approve its budget; to create a policy on travel reimbursement for Off-campus Instruction at Distant Sites; to authorize the purchase of properties; to authorize an option agreement to purchase Carpenters’ Union Hall properties; to accept development gifts; to approve a policy on equal opportunity complaint procedures; to extend appreciation to Coach Jim Tressel and the YSU football team for winning the 1999 championship; to ratify faculty/staff appointments; and to approve a policy on supplemental pay for faculty teaching at distant off-campus sites.
