March 10, 2000: Board of Trustees Regular Meeting Minutes

Abstract

Presented are the minutes of the 208th meeting of the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees on March 10, 2000. This was a regular meeting. President Cochran provided informational reports on diversity, policies and procedures, and recommended Dr. Cynthia Anderson for the University Leadership Merit Award (which was approved by the Board). Committee reports followed. The Board resolved: to extend appreciation to outgoing trustee Dr. Y.T. Chiu and to outgoing student trustee Carrie A. Wilson; to confer an honorary degree upon Atty. Patrick F. McCartan; to approve the faculty workload policy; to show appreciation to the staff involved in the University’s Y2K plan; to increase the Housing Services Budget; to purchase property for campus improvement; to approve the sale/transfer of University-owned property; to approve the use of University computing resources policy; to accept development gifts; to approve the alumni relations policy; to name the University Scholars Program after Leslie Cochran; to extend congratulations to the YSU women’s basketball team for a winning season; to ratify faculty/staff appointments; to approve the policy for the appeal procedure for continuity of employment; to approve the policy on professional conduct for exempt professional/administrative employees; and to supersede the Policies of the Board…Revised June 30, 1983. The Board went into executive session to discuss the conditions of employment for Dr. David C. Sweet.
