December 16, 2009: Board of Trustees Regular Meeting Minutes

Abstract

Presented are the minutes of the 293rd meeting of the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees on December 16, 2009. This was a regular meeting. President Sweet reported on the highlights of the Fall 2009 semester, including a commencement address by Bishop George V. Murry, the appointment of Kevin Reynolds as the executive director of Human Resources, the opening of the Eastern Gateway Community College, and the appointment of Eric Wolford as the YSU head football coach. The Board resolved: to modify policies in the “University Guidebook”; to approve a management agreement with the Ohio Historical Society for the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor; to accept development gifts; to approve interfund transfers; to modify the annual operating budget for FY 2010; to approve the establishment of college fees; to authorize the purchase of properties for campus improvement; to renew the Audit Subcommittee charter; to authorize the issuance and sale of general receipts revenue bonds; to approve amendments to the Centennial Master Plan; to rescind “University Guidebook” policies; to ratify faculty/staff appointments; and to rescind the policy on awarding intercollegiate athletic broadcast rights. The Board went into executive session to hear a report from the Presidential Search Advisory Committee. Upon returning to the public session, the Board made public the names of the candidates for YSU President.
