dc.description.abstract By RP-HPLC, soluble and insoluble calixarenes were examined as mobile phase additives using three PAH analytes. Calixarenes are large cyclic molecules and are of interest in chromatography because of their ability to form host-guest complexes with various analytes. Determination of the optimum temperature, concentration, and calixarene size and type (water soluble and insoluble) was used to evaluate apparent formation constants for solutes forming host-guest complexes. en_US
