Issue 1: Mr. James Gheen will be the inspirational speaker. New officers are elected. The editor encourages the education of the public on health matters. Local doctors recommend annual pelvic examinations. Dr. Harry E. Welch retires after 38 years as Youngstown's Health Commissioner. Dr. C.H. Beight replaces him.
Issue 2: Dr. Joseph Barach will speak on high arterial pressure. New members are W.S. Curtis, E.C. Mylott, and John Paul Kenney. Dr. W.A. Metzger has resigned his membership. Drs. Arthur Smyth and Leland Phipps were sick. Richard Clifford, Joseph Hall and Alexander Slavcoff received state licenses. Annual reports are given for Youngstown Hospital and St. Elizabeth's. A series on preventative medicine starts with an article about immunization programs.
Issue 3: Dr. John Tucker will speak on treatment of peptic ulcers. Dr. Michael Kocialek has applied for membership. Dr. C.M Reed had an operation and Dr. Sidney McCurdy is bedridden. More tips about immunization techniques are given. The Post-Graduate Day lectures feature staff from Brigham Hospital of Boston.
Issue 4: Annual Post Graduate Day issue. Dr. Louis Deitchman writes about the early meetings of the Society with a photograph of Dr. T. Woodbridge. Dr. C.A. Haefner applied for membership. Dr. O.J. Walker had an operation. Drs. Harry Fusselman, D.A. Gross, P.J. Fuzy, and W.A. Welsh were sick. Dr. J.C. Vance explains the value of periodic health exams. The Youngstown Hospital established a department of Bronchoscopy and Esophagoscopy with Dr. E.C. Goldcamp as chief.
Issue 5: Dr. Temple Fay will speak on intracranial pressure problems. Dr. A.P. Smyth, O.W. Haulman, and M.P. Jones are sick. Drs. John Lewis and Edgar Baker presented at the AMA convention. Dr. Morris Deitchman comments on the diabetic diet. The Old Minutes discusses a “black list” of non-paying patients. The quarterly report for Youngstown Hospital shows a decrease in inpatient care and an increase in outpatient treatments.
Issue 6: Dr.Chester Christy will speak on problems in diabetes. Dr. Claude Norris was elected President of the Pittsburgh Dermatological Society. Dr. James Fisher was injured when he fell from his horse. Drs. A. Elsaesser and W.M. Skipp discuss the prevention of goiters. Dr. P.R. McConnell is now practicing urology with Dr. Lewis. Dr. A.E. Brant is serving on a state committee on veterans' hospitalization.
Issue 7: The annual golf outing is scheduled. Dr. W.P. Young applied for membership and Dr. Otis B. Brungard was elected as a member. Dr. H.L. Beers is ill. A special committee proposes establishing a central office for the Society. A memorial is printed for Dr. Arthur P. Smythe.
Issue 8: An Old-Time Picnic is planned at the Heberding's Indian Creek Farm and one doctor reminiscences about past picnics and baseball games between the hospitals. Louis Deitchman remembers Dr. John M. Floor, who died in a car accident.
Issue 9: Dr. Meredith Campbell will speak about urinary infections in children. Dr. Beard was hurt when he fell from his horse. The Old Minutes highlights scientific discussions from the 1870s. Dr. William S. Bond of Hubbard died. Paul H. Strand, a Youngstown chiropractor had his license suspended. Drs. Morris Rosenblum, Walter Tymochko, Bertram Averbach, Samuel Schwebel, and John Longnecker were all granted state licenses.
Issue 10: The Meander Reservoir Works is in operation. Dr. Raymond Whelan summarizes his talk on cranio-cerebral injuries. Youngstown hosts the Annual Meeting of the 6th District. Speakers include Drs. Armin Elsaesser, John Heberding, E.C. Baker, O.D. Hudnut, M.H. Bachman, and S.J. Tamarkin.
Issue 11: Dr. I.S. Ravdin will speak on water metabolism. Drs. John Buchanan and J.B. Nelson were elected Fellows of the American College of Surgeons. The Old Minutes describes the life and work of Dr. Helen Betts. Memorials are printed for Dr. John S. Cross and Dr. Daniel W. Baker.
