dc.description.abstract Kent State University Undergraduate Student Government Association voted to pass a tobacco-free campus resolution while YSU lacks a campus-wide policy. Harvard University professor Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham spoke at YSU and provided a historical perspective to the debate surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement. YSU's Ward Beecher Planetarium receive $650,000 from a NASA grant awarded to South Southern Illinois University Edwardsville that will aid them to develop programming for planetariums around the world. YSU's NAACP is helping bring relief to victims of the Flint, Michigan water crisis by having a lip sync battle known as "Sing for Flint" to raise awareness and funds for the city. An article features Federal Ink, a local T-shirt design and print shop. "For Your Home" exhibition at the SOAP Gallery is featured. YSU softball standout Miranda Castiglione is a candidate for the Lowe's Senior CLASS (Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School) award. Pressbox Perspective reflects on the retirement of White Sox's designated hitter Adam LaRoche. Fabio Boateng is hired as the new coach of the YSU soccer team. en_US
