dc.description.abstract The University expands its international outreach by visiting universities at China, Korea, Japan and Taiwan. The City Club of Mahoning Valley held its inaugural event on September 21 and featured speakers Jim Tressel, Jay Williams, Capri Cafaro and Tom Humphries. The Jambar takes a look at the education gender gap at YSU and across the nation. Student Government Association hosts a debate watch party for students. A phishing attempt lures in payroll fraud victims at YSU. Eric MacDonald has been selected as the First Friedman Chair. ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate) training is reviewed. The YSU Theater opened the season with "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike," a comedy by Christopher Durang. The Locals, a newly formed band in Youngstown which consists YSU students and Alumni, is featured. YSU welcomes Amber Kempthorn of the Cleveland Institute of Art as part of the art department's Visiting Lecture Series. The Top 10 most relaxing places at YSU are listed. Sports features the YSU football team preparing for the start of conference play and the inaugural start of the YSU bowling season. en_US
