dc.description.abstract | Dr. Edgar informed the council that two ex-officio members had been added to the ad hoc committee to re-examine the admissions policy of the University. The proposed academic calendar for 1971-1972 prepared by Dean Painter was briefly discussed. The council was informed of Dean Smith's proposal to permit department chairmen to process purchase requested under some dollar figure without obtaining the signature of the dean of the school. President Pugsley's letter outlining guidelines to be used in the process of employing new faculty was discussed. The Deans were asked to see that the procedure to review tenure was followed and was early enough that notice could be given to the faculty members concerned. Information about submittal for recommendations for promotions and preparation of the next fiscal year budget was to be forthcoming. Dean Smith raised questions about suspended YSU students. Dean Robinson raised the question about having advisement and registration through Friday night. Dean D'Isa advised the council that instructions will be forthcoming outlining the procedure to be followed to apply for Title VI Instructional Equipment Grants. Dean Miller pointed out that faculty evaluation sheets were delivered on the previous Monday making it impractical to distribute to the faculty to have them completed. Dean Scriven requested that the various schools return their comments about the proposed graduation sheets. | en_US |
