Dr. Edgar distributed an announcement from the Institute for Higher Educations at the University of Pittsburgh for three seminars. Dean Scriven presented for discussion the suggestion of having all professors turn in their grades in to the Registrar's Office rather than to their academic dean's office in order to provide more efficient service to students, faculty and administration in utilization of the new Opscan equipment which would then be in operation. Scriven also referred to his suggestion concerning graduating seniors who are requesting to know their rank in class for employment purposes. Scriven, in conjunction with Phil Snyder, will present information concerning the publication of a new catalog at the next meeting. Dean Aurand suggested possibly a publication of each School's catalog individually in addition to the university catalog. Dean Paraska suggested the possible amendment of our repetition rule concerning students who have received the associate degree and were to be excluded from using the repetition rule if they pursue the four-year baccalaureate degree. The time periods for the 10-week summer session was brought up for discussion. Dr. Krill brought to the attention of the deans a problem concerning foreign students. Dean Paraska distributed a draft concerning the review of technical education programs on a five-year basis by the Board of Regents' staff in accordance with R.G. 1-04 of the Ohio Board of Regents. |
