There was extended discussion of Dean Paraska's draft memorandum, "Youngstown State University and Technical Education," and the discussion paper on planing districts, and "Guidelines for Approval of Technical Education, Type A & B Associate Degree Programs." Swan reported on the joint committee on faculty work load. Questions raised during discussions pertained to advisees, office hours, registration hours, thesis credit, conference courses, and variable credit courses other than conference courses. Dean Charignon reported on the work of the chaiman evaluation committee. Dean Scriven announced plans to have current students register during the second week of August when new freshman are here for their Orientation/Registration during the off hours when a large crowd will not be registering. Dean Yozwiak explained a recommendation concerning the transition from three to two Communication courses. |
