dc.description.abstract Dr. Edgar asked for reactions from the Deans on the new commencement activities. Dr. Edgar announced that there would be no changes in the summer offerings after June 22. Dean Scriven's memo on the two-part advisement form was brought up. The rationale for the form was reiterated: it provided a means for protecting the advisor, specifically showing what the originally approved schedule was. Dr. Edgar conveyed a concern of Dean Scriven's that there had been an inordinate number of students applying late for graduation. Dean Yozwiak raised the question of how we should apply the recalculation of grade point average policy. No resolution was arrived at and Dr. Edgar will appoint a sub-committee to study the problem and make a recommendation. Dr. Edgar called to the Deans' attention the President's statement of policy with respect to initial appointment of faculty for both new and vacated positions, specifically that these should be re-budgeted at the instructor level. Dean Miller wished to express his concern about those students requesting F to W changes and the effect this has on their financial aids eligibility. en_US
