Abstract

Mr. Owen, University Librarian, was present to describe a problem currently being faced by the Library. He and his staff along with the Library Committee (Senate) are proposing that departments be restricted to using no more than 40% of their allocations for periodical subscriptions. Following discussion of this issue, Mr. Owen indicated that the Library Committee and his staff would work on developing a new formula for departmental allocation of funds. Dr. Edgar and Professor Cohen presented a proposal for serving the non-traditional student. Dr. Edgar invited suggestions for the composition of an advisory committee to oversee the project. Dean Miller raised the question of "CR" being substituted for "C" or above grade in recalculation of grade point average. It was moved and carried that a "CR" grade can only be used to replace a "D" or "F."
