Academic Deans Council Minutes : June 16, 1981

Abstract

A list of limited-service faculty for Spring quarter 1981 was distributed. Dr. Gillis wanted all forms on released loads submitted, with new additions justified. Student Government primarily paid for student travel. The list of 1981-1982 Goals and Objectives distributed by Dr. Gillis was approved by the President. Gillis would summarize Yozwiak's committee report on Long Range Planning at the Board of Trustee's August meeting. Summer workshops were discussed. Dr. Gillis was going to try to develop a new, consistent policy on substitution payments. Dean Sutton reported the Ad Hoc Committee on Chairpersons Evaluation is still functioning. The document for evaluation of graduate programs was to have been sent to the Deans for evaluation for undergraduate programs. A special fund was allocated by the Trustees for "Marketing YSU." Editing the Bulletin was discussed. Stutton discussed the policy of allocating funds for library periodicals. Administrative representation on the Senate Executive Committee would be conducted. Information flow between Administration/Deans/Departments was discussed. Yozwiak asked about the 1981-1982 budget.
