Abstract

The Dana School of Music celebrates its 150th Anniversary. Sierra Braddy, senior anthropology major and French minor, was accepted for the Teaching Assistant Program in France. Tod Porter, chair of the economic department, for the past 22 years, announced he would be passing on the torch to economic professor Ou Hu. Parking is limited by the Flats at Wick Apartments, Lyden House and Cafaro House due to construction. A strategic planning town hall meeting took place April 17. Katelyn Bowden, founder of BADASS Army, presented her Take Back the Internet speech in the Ohio Room of Kilcawley Center. Over 1,000 people sign a petition for a Women's Center on campus. YSU's Greek Life held their 67th Annual Greek Sing Competition at Stambaugh Auditorium. After WWII, Youngstown College (YSU) used old barracks for classroom space to accommodate the influx of students. Frank Toncar, a YSU music major and entrepreneurship minor, creates new music under the name of "Avalanche." YSU's telecommunications department hosted a Good Humor Radio Hour on 570WKBN. YSU men's golf places 3rd at the Horizon League Championship Tournament while the women's golf team places 4th. Esports now have a club on campus, the Frost Penguins. YSU Volleyball team prepares for fall. The softball team looks to get back on track. The men's tennis teams claim the second seed for the first time in program history.
