dc.description.abstract | The Higher Learning Commission approved February 17-20, 2008, as the dates for the YSU site visit. Dean Hirtzel announced that the ABET site visit for the School of Technology was to be spring 2006. Information about the allocation for instructional equipment was emailed to the deans. Ron Chordas and Donna Esterly met with Student Government representatives regarding their request for a SOLAR survey of students' desired upper-division course offerings. The deans suggested the survey also include questions to improve our knowledge of other potential scheduling issues. The Provost reported on the summer schedule and the need to stay within the budget. The Provost asked the deans to work with their department chairpersons to focus on diversity in faculty recruitment and hiring. The Provost expressed concern about the large number of early-tenure applications which might carry undue risk. | en_US |
