dc.description.abstract Due to the extraordinary number of meetings, Deans Council was to meet as needed. Dr. John Fortier, Executive Director of the U.S. Commission on the Continuance of Government, was slated to give the Constitution Day Program speech entitled, "Extreme Succession: Can our Constitutional Government Survive a Major Terrorist Attack?" It was hoped that the administration's negotiations team for the upcoming OEA faculty negotiations would be finalized. Dr. Khawaja attened meetings with the Budget and Financial Affairs offices involving discussion on course and college fees. He wanted the deans input on the course, college, or program fees. Dr. Khawaja requested the completion of the self-assessment of the Academic Strategic Plan as quickly as possible, so that the working groups for the tasks at hand could be established. Dr. Kasvinsky said the Provosts (of the Northeast Ohio Commission) had a conference call to discuss the Commission's request to specific areas of combining programs, where reasonable, and eliminating programs. The Provosts felt, as a group, that this could not occur at their level and the faculty needed to be involved. The Council was asked to review the "Purchase of Goods or Services" draft. Instructor names were to be entered into Banner. A background check was preformed on everyone hired on campus except for part-time faculty. Discussion followed on the surge of student requesting to turn a grade of 'F' into a 'W.' Faculty contracts were due Friday. en_US
