dc.description.abstract The 2-week Summer Honors Institute went very well and the state people were impressed that YSU agreed to hold this institute without funding. The School of Education received program reviews from NCATE. Dr. Abraham was to travel to Switzerland in July to attend an interdisciplinary conference on "Engineering Solutions for Sustainability: Materials and Resources." Jim Morrison, co-chair with Dr. Singler of the Space Utilization Committee, presented the Committee's interim report. The Chairpersons' Handbook was woefully out of date. Department annual reports were due June 30 and college annual reports by July 31. FY10 reductions to department budget has been taken care of and all changes to ETS contracts had to be approved by the Provost. Marilyn Ward was verifying the summer contracts and would have data to show how YSU performed on summer reductions. Dr. Khawaja received an email regarding the swine flu issue that asked that if YSU had a severe attack of the flu and had to close, what would that do to our academic activity and should we have a contingency plan? He was also asked about the future with respect to computer labs on campus. After some discussion, Dr. Khawaja appointed Paul Kobulnicky and Martin Abraham from the Academic Division to represent us on this group. en_US
