dc.description.abstract Ms. LeViseur asked Council members for their feedback regarding the changes made at the Fall 2016 commencement ceremony. University policies regarding "Teaching by staff" and "Integrity in research" were discussed. Provost Abraham reported that the contract has language that states faculty should report on workload activities including a schedule by the tenth week of the spring semester for the upcoming academic year. Associate Vice President Reagle reported the biggest challenge with IGNITE occurs when other events conflict with this one-day event. Dean Sanders stated there are recruitment goals in the new admission system being used by the Graduate College. Associate Vice President Reagle started a discussion regarding Peer Leaders and suggested a new model needs to be created because YSU was experiencing problems with the current model. Gloria Steinem was booked as the Centofanti lecturer on March 28. Associate Provost Ball was to send the deans an email regarding classifying courses in their respective colleges for the Delaware Study. Dr. Amy Williams was named the coordinator of Reading and Study Skills effective January 1 and Julie Michael Smith became the coordinator of an entrepreneurship program. She welcomed YSU faculty involvement in the program. Spring Semester enrollment was down 100-150 students. Data for the Ad Astra program would be loaded in January or February. The Provost's Office was processing new part-time faculty credentials as quickly as possible. Research Professorship applications were nearing the final stages with awards to be announced January 15. Centers of Excellence applications were due January 23. YSU's Moot Court and students in YSU's Ethics Bowl were competing in national finals. The Office of Research will be purchasing Moderas Electronic Research Administration software. Dr. Cossentino reported on the Honors College Open House and announced the Honors College is having a retreat over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. Mad About the Arts will be February 17. Part-time Faculty Orientation is scheduled on January 4. Fresh Start workshops will be held January 5 and 6. Associate Provost Myers stated that he will be sharing the study abroad guidelines that will govern YSU at a future Deans Council meeting. en_US
