dc.description.abstract The following University policies were discussed: Graduate faculty, Affiliated scholars, Admission, retention and graduation standards, and the Academic Affairs Policy for Grants Management Secondary Contract to Research Active Faculty for the Coordination of Long-term Externally Funded, Nationally Competitive, Basic and Applied Research Grants. Heather Chunn stated college scholarships processed through the Youngstown State University Foundation would be shifted to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Ms. Ruse distributed a timeline for scholarship processing and explained many of the dates listed. Ross Morrone reported the launch for the new university website will be October 24 and that feedback was positive. Dean Mosca and Dean Howell attended the press conference for the new Head Start program in Beeghly Hall. Lori Greiner from "Shark Tank" was booked as the Thomas Colloquium speaker. The WCBA Alumni banquet was scheduled for October 28. The Chamber Winds and the Winds Ensemble Concert, "Musical Goblins," was to perform at Stambaugh Auditorium October 20. Workload verifications for fall semester were distributed. Dean Steelant stated he went with STEM students to volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul. Research professorship applications were due October 20. The Research Recognition Luncheon was to be held November 10. Dr. Cossentino stated she and 14 Honors College students attended the National Collegiate Honors Council in Seattle, Washington. Christina Hardy explained the Ohio Department of Higher Education was requesting information on career preparation activities and career confirmation discussions with students and advisors. Dr. Reagle stated that as a result of a state grant, YSU would be using Ad Astra, a data analysis program that analyzes the courses YSU was teaching and was designed to make scheduling more efficient. Dean Steelant began a discussion on Conditional Admission students and where these students should be advised. The deadline for the Three Minute Thesis Competition was October 24. Dean Sanders asked if the deadline for spring graduate assistants be November 18. en_US
