Four finalists were to arrive at YSU campus the week of September 11 to interview for the position of Executive Director of Maag Library. A lengthy discussion commenced on the topic of student recruitment strategies. The Provost asked for volunteers to form a work group to define the expectations for recruitment strategies for fall 2018. Herman Boone, former head football coach of T.C. Williams High School, was to be the Centofanti lecturer. The BCHHS planned to host a session for deans and academic advisors on September 27. The Graduate College Social was to take place August 31. 187 new international students attended the International Student Orientation on August 15. Dr. Myers told the deans they were permitted to donate/transfer funds to faculty-led study abroad travel but could not earmark the funds to individual students. The Provost updated the Deans on the faculty negotiations and strike contingency. Mr. Hrishenko explained that as a result of the Governor's Task Force on Affordability and Efficiency a review of printing on campus resulted in the Enhanced Printer Management project, which commenced July 1, 2016. There was a larger honors class in the spring than anticipated with 920 honor students. Dean Howell asked for assistance in embedding text into tweets. Ms. Ward pleaded with the deans to process the paperwork for new full-time faculty hires. She was also holding 33 part-time contracts that had issues. August 16 was the last day for deans to approve the graduate pages in CourseLeaf. |
