Associate Vice President Tirone and Mr. Morrone, from University Relations, were present to respond to concerns from Deans Council regarding the YSU website. Mr. Cole stated the YMES email system that YSU is currently using for communication has too many limitations and, as a result, they chose the Emma system which will be implemented the end of January. It was reminded that chairs of search committees must first share with the Provost the finalists whom they wish to bring to campus. Provost Abraham stated that Ohio Revised Code requires regional compacts of Ohio's public universities and college to be in place by the end of June 2018. He asked the deans to have conversations with department chairs and program coordinators to prompt thinking about how to be more collaborative. Associate Provost Ball stated that Hillary Fuhrman worked with a representative at Digital Measure to obtain an updated quote for its product. Associate Provost Myer reported on the International Pathways Programs which enables international students with a 5.5 IELTS to take English Language Institute courses while pursuing a part-time academic course load. The Penguin Tuition promise included lab and materials fees. Dean Sanders distributed a handout regarding the calculation of applicant GPA for admission decisions into the College of Graduate Studies. Associate Provost Ball asked the deans if the chairs were sufficiently aware of the new transfer equate policy. |
