Abstract

A special Halloween edition of the Jambar entitled "The Jamboo." Stories of Lady Buechner in Buechner Hall are mentioned. Ashley Vaughan, a senior interdisciplinary studio art major, got the chance to combine her passion for photography with her interest in the medical "Mad scientist aesthetic" by creating a photo exhibit using real-life prosthetic objects from YSU's Melnick Medical Museum. "Good Humor Radio Hour" performed its Halloween-themed radio show in front of a live audience on Oct. 29 and 30. The Residence Hall Association hosted a door-decorating contests for students living in the dorms at YSU as part of the RHA's House Cup competition. Halloween history is given. DNA Studios' is featuring a "Slash'n Flash Halloween Bash." A screening of the silent movie "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" with live organ accompaniment was held at Stambaugh Auditorium on October 27. Youngstown Pedicab offers a Halloween special with a tour through Youngstown's Oak Hill Cemetery. The 10th annual Halloween Costume Contest hosted by the Department of Communication at YSU is celebrated with a costume contest, ax throwing, prize raffles and food and beer special, with the proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society. Last minute costumes that are already in your closet are given. Ways of overcoming fear are suggested. The Jambar staff participated in the Steel Valley Nightmare and Escape, a horror-themed live game play escape room. Jambar staff share how they would like to be buried after death, or an alternative to being buried. The YSU men's golf team closed out the fall portion of the season with a second place finish. Men's basketball team is gearing up for the fall season. YSU football team faces its toughest opponent yet, No. 1 ranked North Dakota State University. The cure of the Black Jerseys is given.
