President Humphrey addresses concerns regarding financial aid. William T. Collins, YSU’s director of financial aid, provided further comment, stating that the University provided more than $13 million in financial aid to approximately 8,000 out of 15,000 students. These included scholarships, loans, grants, and student employment opportunities. Three programs at YSU have been offering learning and education opportunities to area high school students. These include the Summer College and Occupational Preview Experience (SCOPE), the Career Building Program, and the Governor’s Summer Institute for Gifted and Talented Students. In addition, some 50 students are learning photography, video, music, and theatre programs through the College of Fine & Performing Arts, while others are taking part in opportunities offered by the School of Education. A total of 2,182 YSU students have been named to the Dean’s List for Spring Quarter. |
