dc.description.abstract Conductor and violinist Joseph Silverstein will present two programs on the campus as a Schermer Scholar-in-Residence. The internationally acclaimed musician will perform as guest artist with the Youngstown Symphony on April 12. YSU admissions counselor, Geverna C. Levels of Boardman recently returned from Beaufort County School District, Beaufort, South Carolina where she spent five days discussing the Life Planning Program she created specifically for inner city eighth graders. A one-woman play, "The Belle of Amherst," will be presented by YSU's Program and Activities Council in Kilcawley Student Center April 17-19. Two leading saxophonists will conduct a seminar Saturday, April 12, in Bliss Recital Hall at YSU. The guest speakers/performers will be Ryo Noda of Tokyo, who is currently on a concert tour of the U.S., and John Sampen, professor of saxophone at Bowling Green State University. en_US
