Presented are the minutes of the 365th meeting of the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees. This was a regular meeting. President Tressel extended his thanks and appreciation to the board of trustees and the students, faculty and staff of Youngstown State University for their extraordinary work that continues to be accomplished during challenging times. Presentations were made by Drs. Alan Tomhave and Mark Vopat (advisers to the National Champion YSU Ethics Bowl Team), Dr. Gary Walker (chairperson the Department of Biological Sciences), Dr. Kristin Burns (assistant professor in the Department of Counseling, School Psychology and Educational Leadership), Ms. Marcy A. Gressman (graduate student) and Ms. Ashley Fabian (secretary of the YSU Coalition Against Human Trafficking). The Board resolved to define serious misconduct and endorse University responses and actions regarding circumstances associated with serious misconduct; to modify the Appointment of Graduate Assistants, Graduate Research Assistants, Graduate Assistant Interns, and Teaching Assistants Policy; to authorize the conferral of Honorary Degree to Dr. Thomas Shipka; to accept WYSU Memberships; to accept Gifts of Real Estate; to approve Proposed Housing Rates Changes for FY 2021; to approve Interfund Transfers; to modify and retitle the Deposit of University Funds Policy; to modify the Surplus Property Policy; to ratify Personnel Actions -- Intercollegiate Athletics; to modify the Public Use of University Grounds for Expressive Activity Policy; to modify the Military (Uniformed Service) Leave Policy; to modify the Acting President Policy; to ratify Personnel Actions -- Faculty/PA Staff; to relate to Strategic Allocation, Reallocation and Distribution of Resources to Take Charge of Our Future; to appreciate David C. Deibel; and to appreciate Rocco L. Core. President Tressel noted the passing of Moesha S. Shelley (a student studying pre-law), George Kulchytsky (faculty emeritus History), Judge Nathaniel Jones (alum, former U.S. Court of Appeals Judge for the Sixth Circuit), Atty. Joseph Kondela (part-time faculty, History), Margaret Magmore (retired, ROTC office), and Anthony Cougras (1957 Youngstown College graduate and 1994 YSU Hall of Fame inductee). The Board concluded the meeting. |
