dc.description.abstract The possibility of a relationship between DNA content and nuclear volume of nine clones of the myxomycete Didymium iridis was investigated. The Feulgen-nucleal reaction followed by quantitative microspectrophotometric analysis for DNA determination was employed in conjunction with nuclear volumetric measurements. In order to determine if any relationship existed, statistical analysis of DNA contents and nuclear volumes was carried out by use of linear regressions with volume being the dependent Y variable. It was concluded that there is no relationship between DNA content and nuclear volume in D. iridis. While DNA contents vary, nuclear volume remains relatively constant. en_US
