dc.description.abstract |
The content of the research presented in this thesis is based on the synthesis, purification, and characterization of chiral phosphorus mustards. The stereochemistry of the starting materials were varied to do a comparison study between pairs of enantiomers and diastereomers. Phosphorus mustards contain the bis(2-chloroethyl) group which is found in chemotherapeutic agents known as nitrogen mustards. Therefore, as such, they may be useful as a potential form a cancer treatment. |
