dc.description.abstract |
The inherent interaction between mathematics and physiology is demonstrated by describing a physiological phenomenon in terms of first order differential equations.
Specifically, this thesis discusses the kinetics of lead transfer in the human body by using a system of first order differential equations. The parameters involved are estimated from actual data obtained from a clinical study, the mathematical model is then applied to specific cases, once solutions to the model are calculated. |
