Abstract

The Cove in Kilcawley Center has opened a new ice cream shop for students called "Snack & Chill." Academic cuts continue with YSU deciding against extending the contracts of seven unidentified faculty members following decreased enrollment. Students are encouraged to donate blood. Accessibility Services at YSU offers students the resources necessary to reach their fullest potential. Women's History Month kicks off this year with the theme of cancel culture. YSU is offering an "Intro to Archery" event. Disc golf soars into popularity and Mahoning valley now has its own golf retailer with Pure Flight Disc Golf. The EveryBODY Fashion Show comes to Beeghly Center April 13. Westside Bowl is known for hosting local bands, but for the first time in two years, the West Fest is making a return March 19. In Fall 2021, Alexa Kurimski established a book club on campus which now has around 60-70 people signed up. Student Activities hopes to bring more students back to campus with several events lined up for spring semester. The McDonough Museum of Art opens the 85th Annual Student Exhibition. The YSU women's lacrosse team had a successful day at the WATTS on March 3 by winning its first conference game against The University of Akron, 12-11. The YSU women's tennis team had an unsuccessful spring break as it lost all three of its road match ups. The YSU men's baseball team strikes out with a 5-10 overall for the season. The YSU men's basketball team accepted an invitation to participate in The Basketball Classic tournament. The YSU softball team finally returned home to play its first games on campus after an 18-game road trip to start the season.
