dc.description.abstract For the first time since 2019, Federal Frenzy returned to downtown Youngstown on April 23. Four professors (Drs. Thomas Leary, John Sarkissian, and Mary LaVine) are set to retire from YSU. YSU seniors are looking forward to their lives beyond graduation. During an academic senate meeting April 6, YSU's design committee proposed and unanimously passed a plan to get the campus certified as a wildlife habitat.The development of historic trails in the Mahoning Valley has been held back due to court litigation from some property owners. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program will stay at YSU despite the downsizing of available computer labs on campus. Guins against cancer raises over $30,000 for research. The Penguin Shuttle bus on campus is featured. The Stage of Dreams, a local heavy metal band, will debut in Los Angeles on May 7 and play in the Viper Room on the Sunset Strip. Luke Bryan's "Raised Up Right" tour will come to downtown Youngstown July 16. The Dana School of Music ends the semester on a high note. The Summer Festival of the Arts will be returning in July to Wean Park with collaborations between YSU and the city of Youngstown. The YSU women's tennis team fought hard against Cleveland State University but came up short . Sports features former YSU NFL draft pick, Paul McFadden. The YSU baseball team capped off its 10-game homestead with a doubleheader sweep of Oakland University on April 22. The YSU softball team was on a roll as it produced a five-game winning streak. en_US
