John Barnes, head coach of the YSU women's basketball team, announced he will take a leave of absence to focus on family matters. The Student Government Association held its first Campus Cleanup of the year. YSU students looking for professional attire can purchase some for a discount at the biannual JCPenney Suit Up Event at the Eastwood Mall in Niles. The Association for Women in Mathematics is an organization that aims to create a sense of community among female math students at the University. This fall semester introduces students to new community-engaged learning courses. Senior Hunter Christopher broke the five-mile school record for the YSU men's cross country team. After a two-game losing stretch, the YSU women's soccer team returned to the win column on the road against Purdue University Fort Wayne. The YSU women's volleyball team hits a road bump losing four consecutive games. The YSU football team hit the road to the UNI-Dome and lost 44-41 against University of Norther Iowa. YSU men's and women's golf teams continue the fall season at two separate invitationals.
