dc.description.abstract YSU alumni, YSU Foundation trustees, donors and supporters have condemned the board of trustees for its decision to conduct a confidential search for a new YSU President without community input. About 700 students will graduate from YSU Dec. 17, with undergraduate and graduate commencement taking place on the basketball court of Beeghly Center. YSU will be offering a Master of Science in data and statistics in fall 2024. The YSU Academic Senate approved a new foreign language policy which would leave foreign language requirements up to individual degree programs for Bachelor of Arts majors. The first little library was set up outside Tod Hall and the William F. Maag Jr. Library on Nov. 18. Local bands will participate in the End of the Year Bash which begins at the Bluestone in Columbus and conclude on the Kent Stage in Kent. YSU's anthropology program allows students to travel and assist on archeological digs all around the world. The YSU football team traveled to Philadelphia for the second round of the FCS Playoffs, faced off against Villanova University, and lost. Two Penguins on the YSU track & field team had a records-breaking season opener at the YSU Icebreaker. After a 2-0 start to the season, the YSU women's basketball team has hit a rough stretch as it began conference play Nov. 30 against the University of Detroit Mercy. The men's basketball team defeated Cleveland State University in its Horizon League opener Nov. 29. en_US
