Abstract

With the start of a new semester, fall sports teams are forced to practice at a new location as Beeghly Center renovations continue into September. YSU President Bill Johnson took the stage in Bliss Hall on Aug. 20, where he gave his first State of the University address. A recap is given on IGNITE,an annual event for first-year students that helps them get accustom to campus, familiarize themselves with their colleges and meet interesting organizations, which was held Aug. 22. Bull & Bear Grille and Tavern has opened another location in Youngstown at the corner of Elm Street and Lincoln Avenue by YSU alumni, Hadi Hadi. YSU's theatre schedule is given. The Butler Institute of American Art is awarded $107,000 to support ongoing renovations. Every Sunday until Sept. 1, Wick Park will host Jazz in the Park. The YSU women's soccer team kicked off its 2024 campaign with two home games at Farmers National Bank Field. The YSU women's volleyball team has to make season preparations inside Stambaugh Stadium while Beeghly Center continues schedule renovations. The Penguin football team is ready to deliver for the season home opener against Valparaiso University, September 7.
