Fifty YSU football players were kicked out by the landlord of the University Inn, accusing them of causing damages to the building. NEOUCOM was awarded accreditation. Campus Police investigated a small fire in the Kilcawley dormitory and several incidents of theft. The Summer Express program was highlighted. Joe Kemper, a former All-American diver for YSU, returned to the University as the Penguin swim coach. Residents of the Rayen dormitory complained about deteriorating conditions. A new data card system was used by the Housing Office to assess roommate compatibility. A survey showed that students shun healthy snack foods. The Youngstown Education Foundation awarded $711,000 in scholarships to YSU students. Dr. A. Roger Curran (Management) was named chair of an international committee to study automation. |
