dc.description.abstract The Students United for Peace celebrate John Lennon Peace Week which includes lectures, films, and a dance. Advisers of The Polyglot, YSU's foreign language magazine, are unsure about future funding. The Reading Lab experiments with a computer program to enhance the learning process. A group met to discuss starting a Women's Resource Center on campus. Librarian Carol Wall describes the Rare Book Collection at Maag Library. Frank D'Isa, chairman of the Mechanical Engineering Department, displays his photographs of the New England coast at Maag Library. Lieutenant Colonel Jacqueline Pennell is selected to serve as the Cadet Battalion Commander for ROTC. Former theater director Jonathan Miller will speak on "Are the Humanities Obsolete in the Technological Society?" Three international students (Lewis Shiow, Siew Lim, and Pete Lagos) are interviewed about their impressions of American life. John Gatta reviews Youngstown's first Celebration of the Arts at Powers Auditorium. The football team loses a close game to Eastern Illinois. Janice Cafaro gives details of quarterback Jamie DeVore's rehabilitation. The soccer team loses its first game. en_US
