Abstract

This edition features a headlining article on the cost of purchasing textbooks for YSU students and how students deal with the high prices. Newly elected Governor Ted Strickland speaks on the problems of colleges and universities, specifically the cost of tuition; The Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. is still living on at YSU and his influences on YSU Faculty (Dr. Victor Wan-Tatah) and students; The update of the new YSU pay system by using Banner online instead of paper stubs because of it "saves paper, reduces costs and takes advantage of the Banner system’s functionality"; A new DVD vending machine has been installed at Kilcawley Center, There's a review of an Oakland theater play entitle "Baby;" The Entertainment Section features and article on Ski resorts for the Winter season; The Editorial expresses the Jambar's view of Governor Ted Strickland's plan on Tuition, it also features and article on the iPhone and a commentary about a rape/kidnapping case that occurred with Duke University students. Smaller articles about anger management, recent video games reviews, a Dance competition in Andrews Wellness Center may also be of interest. The Sports features an article about lack of fan interest in some YSU sports (such as softball, track and swimming). The last article questions about the NCAA paying college athletes an income from playing.
