Dedication ceremonies took place at the new Educational building, more than 1,000 people attended. Students in the new Educational Building complained the signs on the lavatories read "Boys" and "Girls" and instead should read "Men" and "Women." The next issue of the Jambar will have a fresh face with a new printed version as well as some new features including "Off the Cuff,"a column devoted to student opinion, and "Grins from the Grind," which will be a column of short comments on timely affairs. Homer Nearpass comments on the new building and predicts that "the year 1931-1932 should mean big things in the history of Youngstown College." There is a Freshman Reception announced to be held Saturday Oct. 3 at the new auditorium. There is a notice for all freshmen that it is compulsory of everyone to attend the Freshman Reception for the students to become better acquainted with the University. Jimmy Chambers is re-elected as President of student Council.
Dr. Bowden has been appointed chairmen of the service committee of the Travelers' Aid Society.
Two girls, Mariam Morgan and Margory Williams, were locked on the roof of the new building Tuesday when they decided to go exploring; they were later rescued by workmen.
The Banal-ology columns covers commonplace events or incidents about the school, and makes them appear interesting. |
