The Four Freshmen were slated to perform at Spring Weekend, as the chairman of the YU Social Committee announced plans to poll the YU student body’s receptiveness to entertainment by nationally-known groups. 66 young women pledged to campus sororities, Gov. James Rhodes announced plans to visit YU, Maggi McKissock was voted YU’s “Best Dressed Coed,” and author Shepherd Mead (“How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying”) spoke to an audience in Strouss Auditorium. The YU debate team returned from Capitol University with four wins—and eight losses. US policy in Viet Nam was the subject of editorials, as was the military draft. The YU basketball team was to play against Akron to end the season. |
