Abstract

"The top and front of the penguin are black, changing to dark blue. Front flames are red at the bottom and turn into orange with yellow tips. The back features a hand-painted multi-color pinstripe design from head to tail. The webbed feet and beak are gold leaf, and a realistic sky with clouds is airbrushed on the square pedestal." Guy Shivley earned his BFA in Commercial Art from YSU. He operates his own business offering handlettering, pinstriping, and airbrushed art for all kinds of automotive vehicles. Shively has worked on many high-end cars featured in car magazines and also manages to maintain his interest in fine art. His art has been exhibited at numerous area shows. He has a piece in the permanent collection of the Butler Institute of American Art and his work is held in many private collections.
