dc.description.abstract "In researching the emperor penguin in preparation for my design, I discovered that emperor penguins are smart, the largest of the species, social and seem to have fun in their Antarctic lives despite the constant threat of danger. The Wrapped Penguin is covered in strips of canvas that have been painted and/or stained and woven together--as a decorative covering and to protect the penguin from harm and environmental hazard." Born and raised in Youngstown, Clara Wick currently resides in Hubbard. She earned a BFA from YSU, and her art has been featured in numerous area exhibitions. She works primarily on canvas and has pieces in many local private collections. en_US
