dc.description.abstract "Home Grown was designed as a tribute to the community champions who represent the Mahoning Valley. My design reflects sports legends affiliated with the Valley community who stood tall in the national spotlight." Willie Duck, Jr. was born and raised in Youngstown, attended East H.S., and is a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where his artwork was recently featured in an alumni exhibit. His works have been displayed at the Hoyt Institute and Canfield Fair, and he is recipient of many awards. A freelance artist noted primarily for portrait work and sports images, Duck is also known for designing and painting school mascots on high school gymnasium walls. en_US
