Chairman Clyde Vanaman presided. The Charter and Bylaws Committee reported on the replacement of Dr. Sumpter on the committee, whether the Academic Affairs Committee could initiate or consider a study of the foreign language requirement, the removal of persons from charter committees or from the Senate if those persons were not fulfilling their obligations, and whether an administrative member of a Senate committee could be eligible to be chairman of the committee. Academic Affairs Committee reported on a request to waive HPE 590 for students who complete the six year medical program and a proposal for a Social Services Technology program leading to an Associate in Applied Science degree. The Curriculum Committee reported on course changes. The Ad Hoc Calendar Committee was now organized but certain members had yet to be appointed. |
