Academic Senate Minutes Meeting of December 05, 1990

Abstract

Dr. William Jenkins, newly elected Chair, presided. The Elections and Balloting Committee announced the newly elected members of the Charter and Bylaws Committee. The Executive Senate Committee reported on the Academic Planning Process and the next presidential search. Dr. Rost reported on the Faculty Advisory Committee to the Chancellor. D. O'Neill is selected as Senate Parliamentarian and Virginia Phillips is selected as Senate Secretary. The Academic Planning Subcommittee reported for information purposes only on the planning process. S. Hanzely and Rebecca Tally reported on the purpose of the Recycling Committee to the Senate. The Ad Hoc Quarter/Semester Study Committee reported on the survey results of the faculty on "How do you feel about a change to the semester system?" After brief discussion is was moved that the committee be dissolved and the issue dropped. The Senate pass a resolution recognizing Dean Vic Richley for his services to the Senate, University and Youngstown Community.
