dc.description.abstract Tom Shipka, chair of the Academic Senate, presided. The Executive Senate Committee evaluated and commented upon a penultimate draft of an administrative review of the hiring of Joseph Serowik in Criminal Justice; it announced the Senate ad hoc committee on waivers of administrative searches has begun its work; the Board of Trustees' Internal Affairs Committee discussed domestic partners; and Bob Hogue as been appointed as Senate representative to the Advisory Committee for the SCT Banner Project. The Elections and Balloting Committee reported ballots for the election of Senate Chair have been distributed and the vacancies in the Charter and Bylaws Committee are now filled. The Academic Standards Committee moved approval for admitting Youngstown Early College (YEC) students into a special admission, non-degree status at YSU (the motion passed). The Undergraduate Curriculum Committee gave an informational report. The General Education Committee announced Thomas Patterson, author of this year's Freshman Reader's Dialog book, will be appearing on campus October 18 at noon in the Chestnut Room. New Business pertained to Dr. Tony Atwater reporting on the Administration's review of the Joseph Serowik appointment.
