Academic Senate Minutes Meeting of May 06, 1992

Abstract

Dr. Jenkins, Chair, presided. The Senate Executive Committee reported on forwarding letters to state representatives and local organizations in response to the state budget cuts in higher education. The Curriculum Division Committee reported for informational purposes. The Programs Division Committee reported on a cut back of materials for Senate circulation. The Academic Standards and Event Committee motion to verify that only 3 hours of HPE activities can be applied to degree requirements. The committee motioned to adopt requirements for pre-business admission and upper-division standing in the W.S.B.A. The Computer Services Committee gave a full report on the state of computing at YSU and determined that it was a critical time for establishing YSU's direction toward technological progress. Dr. Duane Rost reported on the Faculty Advisory Committee to the Chancellor.
