Jim Morrison, chair of the Academic Senate, presided. The Senate Executive Committee reported it will begin reviewing standing committee structures in January. The Ohio Faculty Council reported on benefits for domestic partners and on the Regents' proposed mission and vision statement. The Charter and Bylaws Committee reported on proofing changes that need to be made to accommodate the conversion to semesters in the Charter and Bylaws, seeking additional information on allowing students and faculty to serve on more than one Standing committee, and clarifying which committee has authority for reviewing and recommending policy regarding general education requirements. The Programs and Curriculum committees have just finished circulating a number of programs and courses. The General Education Committee reported it had been busy considering numerous courses proposals and that the new general education requirements apply primarily to students entering next fall or later. Library Committee reported Dora Bailey will the committee. |
