Academic Senate Minutes Meeting of June 03, 1998

Abstract

Jim Morrison, Chair, presided. The Charter and Bylaws Committee reported that the committee will review the bylaws and proposed an amendment pertaining to the representatives to the Ohio Faculty Council. The Academic Standards Committee proposed to add to the undergraduate catalog language stipulating that students must take a math placement exam. The Integrated Technologies Committee motioned that the Academic Senate recommend the allocation of ongoing resources and support to sustain the continued development of the YSU World Wide Web site. The Library Committee reported on the 1998-1999 budget. The Honors Committee reported it has been working with the GER model within its program. The Senate Executive Committee reported on faculty assignments to Senate standing committees, the Ohio Faculty Council meeting, and for nominations for individuals to serve as college representatives to the GER committee. The University Curriculum Committee reported on designing the curriculum for the new Early Childhood degree. The University Program Committee reported on the Early Childhood Program. The Academic Planning Committee reported on semester class scheduling.
