Jim Morrison, chair of the Academic Senate, presided. The Senate Executive Committee reported it will soon make assignments of faculty to committees and President Sweet encouraged the Senate to look into whether the YSU Statement of Ethics can form the basis of a code of behavior and communications. The Ohio Faculty Council reported on the importance of the OBOR web site and that "Success Express," a new recruitment technique of the OBOR, will be visiting campus. The Academic Programs Committee circulated and approved two programs and seven minors. University Curriculum Committee attached approved courses to the agenda. The Academic Planning Committee proposed a revised mission statement. The Library Committee passed the library budget. New Business : G.L. Mears, Executive Vice President, announced a one percent reduction in state support. |
